DocAura Privacy Policy

DocAura is built around one principle: your documents are yours.

What we collect

Nothing. DocAura collects no personal data, no analytics, no identifiers, and no usage information — from anyone, of any age.

How your documents are handled

• All scanning, text recognition (OCR), text extraction, editing, PDF processing, and print-sheet layout happens entirely on your device, using Apple's built-in frameworks.
• Your scans, PDFs, photo files, and extracted text files are stored only in the app's local storage on your device (visible in the iOS Files app). They are never uploaded anywhere.
• DocAura has no servers and no user accounts. It makes one network request: asking Apple's App Store whether a newer version of the app is available. That request carries no personal data, no identifier, and nothing about your documents. Everything else — scanning, text recognition, editing and PDF processing — happens with no network access at all.
• Text recognized by OCR stays inside the file on your device. When you use Extract Text, the text file it saves stays on your device too.
• The optional footer printed on pages DocAura creates is plain text you control in Settings. It contains no identifiers, and nothing about it is sent anywhere.

Camera access

DocAura asks for camera permission solely to scan documents. Images captured are processed on-device and are only saved where you choose. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → DocAura.

Photos

When you use "Gallery to PDF", the ID sheet, or the passport photo tools, DocAura uses Apple's out-of-process photo picker. The app only receives the specific photos you select — it has no access to your photo library. If you choose to save a photo file back to your photo library, DocAura asks for permission to add it and never reads anything else.

Sharing

When you use the Share button, files go directly from your device to the app or destination you choose, through Apple's standard share sheet. DocAura has no visibility into or record of what you share.

Third parties

DocAura contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking technologies.

Passwords (Unlock PDF)

Passwords you enter to unlock your own PDFs are used once, in memory, on-device, and are never stored or transmitted.

Your documents, your responsibility (Disclaimer)

Because DocAura stores nothing outside your device and keeps no copies of anything, responsibility for your documents rests entirely with you:

• No cloud, no backup by us. Your files exist only on your device (and in any backups you make, such as iCloud or computer backups of your device). If you delete the app, its files are deleted with it — except copies you have exported or shared.
• Your content. You are solely responsible for the documents you scan, create, edit, sign, watermark, store, or share with this app — including keeping backups of anything important.
• Lawful use. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the app complies with applicable laws and any agreements covering your documents. The Unlock feature must only be used on PDFs you have the right to access, with a password you legitimately hold. Signatures and watermarks you apply are your own representations.
• Document and photo sizes. DocAura lays out IDs and photos at published physical dimensions. It does not verify your output against the rules of any government, embassy, or other authority, and printed results also depend on your printer's settings. Check the requirements of whoever you are submitting to before you rely on the result.
• As is. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for data loss, document damage, or any use or misuse of the app or its output.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of DocAura ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated and the change will be clearly described in the App Store release notes before it takes effect.
